Who speech therapy helps.

Speech-language pathologists help with much more than speech. They work with people who have:

What happens at a visit.

Therapy uses real meals, real conversations and your own daily routine.

Safer swallowing

We check how you swallow and suggest food textures, positions and habits that lower the risk of choking.

Speech and language practice

Exercises for clear speech, finding words and following conversations.

Memory and thinking strategies

Calendars, routines and simple tools that make each day easier to manage.

Coaching for family

How to talk, cue and help at mealtimes so practice continues between visits.

Is it covered by Medicare?

With Original Medicare, covered home health visits cost you nothing. You usually qualify when all four of these are true.

How to start speech therapy at home.

First, we get the referral

From your doctor, the hospital, a rehab facility or you. We need the order and recent visit notes, and we can request them for you.

Next, we confirm the details

We verify insurance, call you to explain what’s covered, and agree a time that works for the family.

Then, your clinician arrives

Usually within 24 to 48 hours. The first visit sets goals with you and builds the plan your doctor signs.

Speech therapy questions.
